Refund Policy

Last updated: March 23, 2026 | Applies to all BudgetCoinz ATM locations

BudgetCoinz is committed to transparency. This page outlines your refund rights by state. Cryptocurrency transactions are generally irreversible—but depending on your state of residence, you may have specific legal protections in cases of fraud.

General Refund Policy

Cryptocurrency transactions completed at BudgetCoinz ATMs are final and irreversible once the transaction has been broadcast to the blockchain. BudgetCoinz cannot reverse, recall, or recover cryptocurrency that has been sent to a wallet address. However, in limited circumstances — including fraud — we may be able to assist if you contact us before the transaction is confirmed, or if your state law provides specific refund rights.

Minnesota Residents

Minnesota Fraud Refund Rights (New Customers)

Under current Minnesota law, a new customer may be entitled to a full refund for transactions made during the customer's initial 72-hour new-customer period if:

  • The customer was fraudulently induced to engage in the transaction(s), AND
  • Within 14 days of the last transaction during that 72-hour period, the customer contacts both BudgetCoinz AND a government or law-enforcement agency regarding the fraud.

If these conditions are met, BudgetCoinz will issue a full refund of all amounts paid, including all fees. No administrative fees or penalties will be deducted from qualifying fraud-induced refunds for eligible Minnesota customers.

IMPORTANT: This statutory refund right applies to new customers (within your first 72 hours). Your 14-day reporting window begins on the date of the last transaction during that 72-hour period. You must contact both BudgetCoinz AND a government or law-enforcement agency.

Minnesota Non-Fraud Refund Requests

For non-fraud refund requests, a refund is only available if cryptocurrency has not yet been sent. Requests must be submitted within 14 days of the transaction. Administrative fees of up to 25% may apply to approved non-fraud requests.
