Step by Step Bitcoin Buying Guide
Follow these simple steps to purchase Bitcoin at any of our ATM locations
Start the Bitcoin ATM
When you approach the Bitcoin ATM, you'll see the welcome screen. Touch the screen to begin the transaction.
Look for the "BUY BITCOIN HERE" text and the BudgetCoinz logo.
Tap anywhere on the screen to start your Bitcoin purchase.
Make sure you're at a legitimate BudgetCoinz Bitcoin ATM by checking for our branding.
Select Your Cryptocurrency
Choose which cryptocurrency you'd like to purchase. Our ATMs support multiple cryptocurrencies including:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Dogecoin (DOGE)
- Ripple (XRP)
You'll see the current exchange rate for each cryptocurrency. Simply tap on the icon of the cryptocurrency you want to purchase.
Cryptocurrency prices update frequently. The price shown is locked in only after you complete your purchase.
Choose Your Purchase Amount
Select how much cryptocurrency you want to purchase. The ATM will display purchase limits based on verification level.
For smaller purchases (typically under $3,000), select "UP TO 2999 USD".
For larger purchases, select "MORE THAN 2999 USD" (additional verification may be required).
The exact purchase limits may vary by location due to local regulations.
Agree to Privacy Notice
Due to anti-money laundering regulations, the ATM will collect some personal information. You'll need to review and agree to the privacy notice.
The ATM will request your mobile phone number for verification purposes.
For larger transactions, you may also need to provide additional information like your name.
Your information is securely stored and only used for regulatory compliance purposes.
Click "I AGREE" to proceed with the verification process.
Verify Your Phone Number
Enter your mobile phone number including area code. The ATM will send you a one-time password (OTP) via SMS for verification.
Use the on-screen keypad to enter your 10-digit phone number.
Press the green "OK" button after entering your number.
You'll receive a text message with a verification code to enter in the next step.
Make sure your phone has reception at the ATM location.
Enter the One-Time Password
After receiving the SMS with your verification code, enter the code on the ATM screen.
Use the on-screen keypad to enter the code exactly as it appears in the SMS.
Press the green "OK" button after entering the code.
If you don't receive the SMS within a minute, you can tap "VOICE CALL" to receive an automated phone call with your code.
After verification, you may be asked to enter additional information based on your transaction amount.
Scan Your Wallet QR Code
Now you'll need to provide a Bitcoin wallet address where you want to receive your purchased Bitcoin.
Open your Bitcoin wallet app on your phone and display your receiving address as a QR code.
Hold your phone's screen up to the ATM's scanner window (make sure your screen brightness is up).
The ATM will scan your QR code to capture your wallet address.
If you don't have a wallet yet, tap "DON'T HAVE A WALLET?" to get help creating one.
Complete Your Purchase
After scanning your wallet QR code or creating a new wallet, you'll be prompted to insert cash to complete your purchase.
Insert bills into the ATM's bill acceptor one at a time.
The screen will show you how much Bitcoin you'll receive based on the amount you've inserted.
Once you've inserted your desired amount, press "DONE" to complete the transaction.
The ATM will process your purchase and send the Bitcoin to your wallet address.
You'll receive a receipt with your transaction details, and Bitcoin will appear in your wallet shortly.
What to Bring to the ATM
Cash
US dollars in good condition (no torn or heavily damaged bills).
Mobile Phone
For SMS verification and displaying your wallet QR code.
Bitcoin Wallet
Install a Bitcoin wallet app on your phone beforehand or use the ATM to create one.
ID (for larger purchases)
Government-issued photo ID may be required for purchases over $3,000.
